  • Look For Raine

But darling, please know that I am tired.

I am tired of all the late night, senseless yet idyllic conversations that we share; of all the butterflies you seem to put in my stomach every time you tell me something not even sweet, but rather just plain funny; of all the flowers that grow in my lungs and although, they are beautiful, darling I cannot breathe. I am tired of you drawing all the plans that never even came into real life colors.

You have drained all the hopes in me - that perhaps in some distant near future, you shall make it as clear as the after-rain sky, that you and me should be together somehow.

Mine, maybe, is an old-fashioned heart that still believes in the art of waiting. But, darling, it still can get weary and exhausted. I don't know what we are and I mostly don't know what we will become.

So I am stopping here while I still have little guard left. I am stopping here while I still can. Possibly not today or tomorrow, but I am giving up on you now. Perhaps this is what they call the game over.

You see, one of the advantages of being in Singapore is that fares to neighbouring countries are cheaper than coming from the Philippines. So my friends and I decided to go to Phuket for a quick summer getaway exactly a month ago.

Before we went there, the weather forecast was always rainy with thunderstorm so I wasn't really excited about this trip. Surprisingly, it was all the way sunny and humid during our four-day stay. We also thought that it was already off-peak season so less tourists would be there. But it was the other way around. Lol. The beach during our island hopping was soooo jam packed.

Juggling between being full time Analyst Programmer and wanting to be a nomad - jet setting and gypsying the world, or at  least for me, I am. This Phuket trip, nevertheless, was precisely what we needed to get away from the city's bustling life.

Here are some quick snippets from our trip. Enjoy!

Side Note: I would still choose Palawan over Phuket. Philippine islands are truly incomparable. :)

One of my favorite places in SG, Haji Lane would probably be Singapore's hippest neighborhood. Hidden in the heart of Kampong Glam, it is basically composed of independent boutiques, quirky cafes, quaint barber shops and a LOT of artistic inspirations. Every spot is surely instagram-worthy.

On the weekend when I purchased my latest camera, I decided to go straight to Haji Lane and test my camera out. It was also the day I learnt about Kampong Glam -  a Malay village that features a lot of different culinary delights and local delicacies.

This would probably be the most photograp part of Haji Lane. Sobrang nice kasi mag-selfie eh!

How to go to Haji Lane

If via MRT, take the East West Line (Green Line) and alight at Bugis station. Exit at point B. Then walk along Raffles Hospital.

something about the sunset that even though thousands of identical photos already exist, i still cannot help but take one
After too much procrastinating and contemplating, I finally find the drive to re-build this blog. I started blogging almost two years ago when one of my best friends asked me if I blog (because he knows that I write sometimes) and I can only answer him, "Ummmm, actually no." I guess I developed my love for words when I was still in elementary. I remember contributing articles and f eature stories to our school paper and even competed in a few Writing Contests. Then that feeling of excitement whenever my teacher asks us to write essays on our English classes. (I still wonder why I did not take any English major or Communication course back in college.)

In my quest to put something interesting in my boring and routinary life, I decided to roam around the sunny, little Singapore and take pictures as much as I can. I am nowhere near a professional or expert photographer, just a shutterbug finding hues or even achromatism in the littlest things thereof.

It was actually my first time to explore most parts of Chinatown. I have been here before, but due to the very humid weather and invariably crowded streets, I give up somehow. So it was one sunshiny Saturday that I put my tourist mode on and probe around the streets of the colorful Chinatown.

I love how the buildings here are embellished with three or more colors.

They also offer cook-to-order seafood.
